Not to infringe on you again but I still have received no information in the past few months of trying to get any response. This message is regarding a phone call I made on March 30, 2026 to the main SS number at 9:40 a.m. (EST). I was told that the wrong input for my address was not going to be corrected because it was pointless due to me not receiving benefits. I argued that I need my address correctly updated so I may receive information from field offices or the SS Admin.

The woman who I spoke to began asking non-routine questions such as the day I had moved to my new address. I told her that I had moved on a certain day, and she told me that was impossible because driving from California to Philadelphia would require more than a few days by car. After establishing my identity she asked me the date my benefits had been cut off. I did not have the information at hand but remembered that the benefits had stopped in March, 2025 so I told her that month.  She yelled at me “wrong!” and then I realized the benefits had been suspended in February of that year. She said nothing, then asked me as if it were a “review” in a field office, when did you make an appeal for reinstatement? I had been asking for information for months (now turning to years) and have never received a single written response but I told her that I had submitted a request in July, 2025 (I had filled out a landlord-tenant form and submitted it to the Mountain View Field Office, writing a request to let me know the state of my benefits and how they will be reinstated.  I received zero response for over 7 months of patiently waiting. Every phone call to the San Jose and Mountain View Field offices were met with agents giving me wrong information and then hanging up on me. Every single call I made to those field offices I was hung up on.

Thusly I assumed that a written request for obtaining information was similar to making an appeal for reinstatement after months of asking for information on how to reinstate my benefits.

The Little River, Miami Field Office had likewise YELLED at me by phone about an overpay (Covid money and student loans saved) and demanded that I pay literally all money in my account to their office using a cashier’s check, brought in personally to them a their office.

Waiting for a response, I phoned the office asking for a written letter stating  the exact details as I could not trust them any longer. I was sent a letter, formal with Social Security stationary, stating that my benefits had been reinstated, and the reinstatement would occur on April 1, 2025. Nothing happened my benefits remain off.

The phone call on March 30, 2026 was met therefore with being yelled at once again that she could not establish my identity and therefore demanded that I go in person to a local field office to CHANGE MY ADDRESS. She also recommended that I change my address online and I had to remind her that as a SSI Disability recipient I am unable to do that, address changes are accepted only by phone. She told me that I would have to go in person rather than change address by  phone.

I told her that changing address by phone was their protocol and she began yelling with rage and hate “I will tell you what protocol is”...and I hung up on her because it was getting far out-of-hand by that point. She had stated incorrectly that I am able to go online and change address, where she should have known that SSI does not allow online address change.

She was so dubious I began writing to your offices and to many other offices as this entire situation is so fraught with misinformation and disinformation I need a letter, not a verbal abuse demand from a field office demanding whatever they want such as in-person cashier’s check for the entire sum in my bank account.  The Greater Lakes repayment offices had established that at the very least my Covid savings were exempt from this repay. I had submitted a financial hardship appeal and received zero response after months and month I am living off savings and fighting for my life to survive this with no help from your agency on what is the established and correct system of repayment.

If you can please forward this to the appropriate offices, since it is a very abusive situation considering the yelling and hanging up on me and refusal to provide pertinent information. I cannot trust a field office at this point.
